Of Capponellan House, Durrow. Died on Monday, November 6, 2023. 

Funeral Arrangements Later. 

Sean Phelan - Ballybrittas

The death has occurred of Sean Phelan, Brook Lodge, Fisherstown, Ballybrittas, Laois / formerly of Whiteswall, Galmoy, Kilkenny.

Suddenly at his residence. Predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth.

Sadly missed by his loving partner Bridin, sons Denis and Trevor and their mother Marie, daughters-in-law Danielle and Avril, grandchildren Jordan, Mia and Senan, sisters Mary and Margaret, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

May He Rest In Peace. 

Reposing at his residence (Eircode R32 F8W8) on Thursday from 3pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday at  12:30pm arriving at The Sacred Heart Church, Rath, Ballybrittas (Eircode R32 FN44) for Requiem Mass at 1pm. Funeral afterwards to St John's Cemetery, Killenard (Eircode R32 VW77). House Private on Wednesday and on Friday Morning, Please.

Bridget Maguire - Portarlington

The death took place on Sunday, November 5 of Bridget Maguire (née Mooney) - Strattonstown, Ballinea, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and formerly of Kilbride House, Portarlington, Co Laois.

Peacefully, in the company of her loving husband and family at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by her parents Christopher and Mary and her brothers Charlie and Christy. A loving wife, sister, aunt and friend;  Bridget will be deeply missed by her heartbroken husband and best friend Tom, her loving sister Betty and brother Johnny, her dear nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at Gilsenan's Funeral Home N91 K660 on Thursday from 4pm, concluding with prayers at 6pm and followed by Removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 6.30pm.

Bridget's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 am. followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium Cavan H12 RF78.   The Mass may be viewed live at www.mullingarparish.ie.

Rachel Krechnyak (nee Moynan) - Durrow

The death has occurred of Rachel Krechnyak (nee Moynan), Old Road, Coolbaun, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Durrow, Co. Laois.

Rachel passed away peacefully, on 28th October 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital. Predeceased by her father Edmond. Beloved wife of James and much loved mother of Caleb, Benjamin and Brianna. Rachel will be dearly missed by her husband and children, mother Elizabeth Moynan, daughter-in-law Diana, brothers Ian, Norman, Winston, Philip and Wesley, sister June, parents-in-law Jim and Helen, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May Rachel Rest in Peace.

Reposing at her home in Coolbaun (R95TC6E) on Friday 10th Nov. from 4pm to 7pm. House private at all other times. Funeral Service on Saturday afternoon (11th Nov) at 2pm in Kilkenny Presbyterian Church, New Road, Kilkenny. A private cremation Service will follow on Monday.

Mary Behan - Ballickmoyler

The death has occurred of Mary B. Behan, Bishopsland, Kildare Town, and formerly Tierernane, Ballickmoyler, Laois/Carlow.

Passed away unexpectedly, on Thursday, November 2 at her home. 

Beloved daughter of Jackie and Carmel and much loved sister of John, Joe, Anne, Maurice, Michael, Brede and Helen.

She will be sadly missed by her loving parents, brothers, sisters, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May Mary’s Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Reposing at her parents’ home, Tierernane, Ballickmoyler (Eircode R93 T380) from 3pm on Wednesday, November 8th, concluding with prayers at 7pm that evening. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 noon in St. Abban’s Church, Killeen, (Eircode R93 HK58) and will be followed by burial, with her beloved grandparents Jack and Molly, in the adjoining cemetery.

Brenda Houston - Mountrath

The death has occurred of Brenda Houston (née O’Neill), Chiswick, London and Trumera, Mountrath, Co. Laois.

Died after a short illness on October 30th 2023 surrounded by her loving family and the caring staff of Charing Cross Hospital, London.

Predeceased by her parents Liam and Brigid, her sisters Barbara and Siobhán and her brothers Caoimhín (Kevin) and Aengus.

Deeply regretted by her beloved sons David and Paul, their father John, daughter in-law Anastasia, David’s partner Helen, her grandchildren Fox, Evie and Lula, her sisters Maria, Gráinne, Mairéad, Gertrude and Suzette, her brothers Diarmuid, Colm, Liam and Killian, her wider family and large circle of friends.

A private funeral service will be held in London in the coming weeks.
