The death has occurred of James Redmond of Borris Road, Portlaoise. Died on January 20, 2024 suddenly at home. Deeply regretted by his wife Orla, son Martin, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace

Reposing at Keegan's Funeral Home, Portlaoise on Wednesday from 7pm with rosary at 8pm. Removal on Thursday to SS Peter and Paul's Church, Portlaoise for 12 noon requiem mass followed by cremation to Newlands Cross Crematorium.

Anthony Reddin -Portlaoise

The death has occurred of Anthony Reddin of Triogue Place, Portlaoise and Mountmellick. Died 21st January 2024. Peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Anthony and Christina and sister Martina Sadler. Deeply regretted by his sons Pierce and Cole and their mother Elizabeth. His partner Margaret, grandchild Emily Rose, godchild Keelan, brothers, sister, uncle, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends. May he Rest in Peace

Reposing at Keegan's Funeral Home, Portlaoise on Tuesday evening from 6:30pm, until 8pm with rosary recital at 7:30pm. Removal on Wednesday to SS Peter and Paul's Church, Portlaoise for 12 noon requiem mass followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Portlaoise. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to the friends of the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise.

Ann Holohan (née Kane)- Ballyfin

The death has occurred of Ann Holohan of Springfield, Ballyfin on January 19, 2024. Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Tallaght University Hospital, Dublin.

Predeceased by her grandson Sean, her sister Mary, sisters-in-law Mageret and Peggy. Deeply regretted by her loving husband P.J., her sons Patrick, Damien, Paul and Martin and her daughter Sharon. Sadly missed by her daughters-in-law Ann, Gemma and Triona, son-in-law Niall, brothers, sisters, her adoring grandchildren Aoife, Cian, Eve, Jamie, Ben, Sarah, Emma, Ruairí, Conor, Dan, Tadhg, Darragh, Sisters, brothers, in laws, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing in Moloney's Funeral Home, Mountmellick, on Tuesday, 23rd, from 5pm. Recital of The Rosary at 8pm. Removal from her home on Wednesday 24th at 10.40am to St. Fintan's Church, Ballyfin arriving for 11am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Fintan's Cemetery.

Ann Earley (née Ferriter) - Portarlington

The death has occurred of Ann Earley, Cushina Road, Portarlington, Laois / Rathangan, Kildare on Monday, January 22, 2024.  Formerly of Coolenan, Rathangan, County Kildare. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Loving mother of the late Patrick (Paddy) recently deceased and dear sister of the late Jimmy and Pierce. Deeply regretted by her loving husband P.J.,daughter Karen, son-in-law Paul, daughter-in-law Carina, grandchildren Stephen, Noah, Tadhg, Oisín and Fionnán, brother Luke, sisters Helen, Siobhan and Cáit, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of Breda Dolan (née Mulhare) (Late of Slemish Road, Dublin 7 and formerly of Stradbally, Co. Laois) on January 21, 2024, peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of all the doctors and nurses in St Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown. Predeceased by her brothers Michael and Brendan, sister Nina. Beloved wife and soul mate of Con and cherished mother to Ciara, James, and Ana. Sadly missed by her loving family, Ciara’s partner John, sisters Toni, Margaret and Elizabeth, brothers Joe and David, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Michael (Mick) Stynes-Arles

The death has occurred of Michael Stynes of Arles, Ballickmoyler, Carlow on January 22, 2024 suddenly at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Brigid and much loved father of Brendan, Michael, Eamon, Christopher and John. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, brother Jim, daughters-in-law Barbara, Clare, Kate, Abigail and Nina, his 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, sister Bridie and brother Nicholas. Rest in Peace.

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home Pollerton Castle, Carlow on Friday evening from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11am in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Arles. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Moira Bolger (née Conroy)

The death has occurred of  Moira Bolger nee Conroy of Rockpark Avenue, Tralee, Co. Kerry and formerly Laois, Southampton and Newbridge.  Died peacefully on January 22, 2024, beloved wife of the late Michael and dear mother of Mary, Michael, Christopher, Sarah Mark and Anthony. Predeceased by her grandparents Mary and Denis Conroy and her mother Molly.

Brother Gabriel Whyte - Castletown

The death took place on Sunday, January 21 of Brother Gabriel (George) Whyte, De La Salle Brothers, Castletown, Portlaoise, Co. Laois and late of Castletown Road, Dundalk, Co. Louth.

Died peacefully in the loving care of the Community and staff of Miguel House.

Predeceased by his parents John and Alice, sisters Kitty (Cumiskey), Mave and Bredge, brother in law Harry, sister in law Brighid (McLoone). Sadly missed by his brother Paddy, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnephews, many relations and friends, his confreres and the staff in Miguel House Care Home.

Reposing in Miguel House Castletown (R32 NX40) this Tuesday (Jan. 23rd) from 11.00am with Evening Prayer and Rosary at 7.00pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday (Jan. 24th) at 2.15pm. Burial immediately afterwards in the Monastery Cemetery, Castletown.

Anthony Dunne - Clonaslee

The death took place on Sunday, January 21 of Anthony Dunne, Ballincur, Kinnitty, Birr Co. Offaly and formerly of Glenkeen, Upper Clonaslee, Co Laois.

Died peacefully, in Birr Community Nursing Unit, aged 96.

Predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Denis, his sisters Mary, Nora, Bridget, Angela and Eileen.

Kathleen Holland - Mountrath

The death took place on January 19 of Kathleen Holland (née Murray), Trumera, Mountrath, Co. Laois.

Died peacefully at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Crosspatrick, Co. Kilkenny. Predeceased by her beloved husband John. Loving mother to Debbie, Kevin and John. Sadly missed by her family, grandchildren, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, brother, extended family, relatives and friends.
