Rev. Canon Laurence Dunphy - Cullohill

The death has occurred of Rev. Canon Laurence Dunphy in his 90th. year, retired P.P. of Urlingford and Graine Co. Kilkenny in the kind and loving care of staff of the Sacred Heart Nursing Home Crosspatrick. Native of Bunlacken, Cullohill, Co. Laois, previously served in Killasmeestia, Camross, St. John's Kilkenny and Glenmore parishes. Predeceased by his brothers Liam, Jim, Mick, Paddy, John and Kieran, his sisters Sheila, Mary, Kathleen, Nancy and Agnes, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Deeply regretted by his 42 nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, sisters-in-law Annette, Marette, Breeda and Mary, cousins, extended family, his many friends and parishioners and the priests of the diocese of Ossory. May he rest in peace.

Reposing in St. Patrick's Church, Graine on Wednesday evening February 11th.from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock and the Church of the Assumption, Urlingford on Thursday February 12th. from 5 o'clock until 8 o'clock concluding with prayers both evenings. Requiem Mass on Friday at 12 noon followed by interment in the adjoining Churchyard.

Mary Kehoe - Ballickmoyler

The death has occurred of Mary Kehoe (née Fitzgibbon) of Old Leigh, Ballickmoyler, Co Laois and formerly of Portlaoise, Co Laois, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on February 9th, 2026 at Beechwood Nursing Home, Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow.

Predeceased by her husband Richard. Beloved mother of Fiona, Richard and Barry and adored grandmother of Cíaran, Ava, Róisín, Vincent, Dylan, Liam and Oisín

She will be sadly missed her by loving sons, daughter, grandchildren, daughters-in-law Sibyl and Ann, son-in-law Liam, brother Johnny, sister Eileen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and friends. May Mary’s Gentle Soul Rest In Peace. 

Mary will repose at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq (R93 C863) on Thursday February 12th from 4pm concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal from there on Friday morning at 10.30am to The Church of the Sacred Heart, Arles (R93 KX60) arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery

Sheila Sheehan - Ballinakill

The death took place on Sunday, February 8, 2026 of Sheila Sheehan, (née Gowing), Killester and formerly of Ballinakill, Co Laois.

Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of staff at Oakview Nursing Home, Belturbet, Co Cavan.

Loving mother of Denice, Des, Gillian and Tara. Predeceased by her beloved husband Maurice.

Very sadly missed by her son and daughters, sons-in-law Paul, Kevin and Alan, grandchildren Katie, Gary, Mark, Jack, David, Shane, Maurice, Luke, Harry, Owen and Ali, great grandchildren Chris, Eimear, Jake, Ciara and Grace, brothers Fr Eamonn and PJ, sisters Nuala, Moira, Eithne, Gabrielle and Hillary, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, special friend Rosemary, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Removal on Thursday morning to the Church of St Brigid’s, Killester arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by burial in Dardistown Cemetery.

Noel Hogan - Portlaoise

The death took place on Sunday, February 8, 2026 of Noel Christopher Hogan, Aghnaharna drive, Portlaoise, Laois, R32D52W

Noel passed away peacefully at home, in his 91st year, in the loving care of his family. Pre-deceased by his sisters Mai, Peggy, Brid and his brothers Liam, Martin, Joe and Michael. Dearly beloved husband to Josephine and loving father to Fionnuala, Colm, Deirdre, Joseph, Cormac and Stephen.

Noel will be deeply missed by his family, brothers Vinnie and Frank, sisters Anne and Robin, daughters-in-law Rita, Tania, Vlada and Jane, grandchildren Niamh, Thomas and William, nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family and many wonderful friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his home on Tuesday (10th February) from 4p.m. concluding with Prayers at 6.30p.m.

Noel’s Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday 11th February, at 12:30pm in SS Peter and Pauls’ Church, Portlaoise, followed by burial in SS Peter and Pauls’ Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Marcello Pinna - Portlaoise

The death took place on January 30, 2026 of Marcello Pinna, late of Portlaoise, Co. Laois & formerly of Frosinone, Italy.

Marcello passed suddenly and unexpectedly on 30th January 2026

Beloved father to Claudia, Matteo, Jennifer and Luca, dear friend of Patricia (mother of Claudia), sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughters, sons, sister Tina and brother Nino, brother-in-law Umberto, nephews and nieces, grandchildren Nora and Tobias and his close friends Andries, Sharon and family.

A ceremony of celebration of Marcello’s life will take place in Shannon Crematorium, Illaunmanagh, Shannon, Co. Clare V14 PV30 on Saturday 14th of February at 2:00pm. All are Welcome
