Portlaoise College has once again demonstrated its commitment to learning languages by awarding prestigious summer school scholarships in German, French, and Irish to outstanding students.

This year, Isha Bhatt and Jaela Halberstadt have been awarded German summer school scholarships, while Adesuwa Olague and Fadzai Nyakuonda will attend French summer school.

Additionally, the Laois school has expanded its Gaeltacht scholarships to six students, providing Emilija Siugzdinyte, Aoibheann O'Sullivan, Jeremiah Phillips, Julia Skwara, Joleen Dunne, and Mosa Hafeez the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Irish language.

Principal Noel Daly praised this year’s recipients.“We are incredibly proud of our students’ dedication to language learning. These scholarships provide them with fantastic opportunities to develop their skills and cultural understanding, which will benefit them in the future,” he said.
