A major project is about to decorate Mountrath Roman Catholic Church in the run up to Christmas.

Parishioners have been told that workers will begin erecting scaffolding in Sanctuary area St Fintan's Parish Church on Monday, Nov 21.

Preparatory work for the Painting of the Church (Sanctuary area) will commence on Monday, November 28. There will be some disruption and for safety reasons some areas of the Church will be cordoned off for the duration of the work.

For the safety of everyone using the church during the painting project.

Fr Joe Brophy PP Mountrath Ballyfin Parishes) began preparations during the summer when paint sponsorship was also sought.

Significant funds were available for the project due to the work of the Mountrath Lotto Committee and those who support it, as well as the proceeds of the Three Tenors Concert held in 2020 and also some personal donations towards the cost of the painting.
