Counting set to resume later this morning

Sinn Féin's Caroline Dwane Stanley celebrated her re-election to Laois County Council at the Count Centre in Portlaoise late last night. She reached the quota with 1,460 votes and was deemed elected by returning officer, Donal Brennan. It followed the election of Fine Gael's Willie Aird in the Portlaoise Local Electoral Area earlier in the evening. Counting is set to resume later this morning.
