Lola Young is a late addition to the line-up and will play the main stage Electric Picnic stage at 3.45pm on Saturday

British singing sensation Lola Young will play a surprise set at Electric Picnic on Saturday, August 29, after she teased fans with an airport picture on Instagram.

Young is a late addition to the line-up and will play the main stage in Stradbally at 3.45pm on Saturday. She posted a photograph of herself on Instagram Stories seemingly at Dublin Airport with a lips sealed emoji.

Electric Picnic organisers have since confirmed her appearance on the main stage. They posted: “We’re delighted to announce Lola Young will be performing a surprise set on the Main Stage presented by 3 at 3.45pm today.”

Fans will be delighted with the new arrival to the festival after US DJ Armand Van Helden had his set cancelled on Friday night. A larger than expected crowd arrived to the Smirnoff Stage before a decision was taken to pull the set over crowd safety.

CMAT has confirmed she will be on the main stage on Saturday night after recovering from an illness that forced her to cancel at gig in Paris on Friday night.

Fans are in high spirits in Stradbally despite brutal weather with Met Éireann predicting further rain right through the weekend and into Monday.
