Woman accused of drug possession in Laois

DPP directions are awaited in the case

A woman appeared in court accused of having drugs for sale or supply in Wolfhill. 

Brigid Deegan, 59, of Slatt Upper, Wolfhill is accused of having cocaine and cannabis for sale or supply at Slatt Upper on August 1, 2023. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said he didn’t have directions in relation to jurisdiction in the case. He requested a further remand in relation to the matter. 

“The alleged value is high,” Sgt Kirby told the sitting of Portlaoise District Court. 

Judge Andrew Cody adjourned the case until June 10 and marked it peremptory for DPP directions.
