Electric Picnickers availing of early entry to campsites are reporting a two hour delay reaching the Stradbally site.

Martley's of Portlaoise are operating their regular shuttlebuses to and from the site, and are experiencing unprecedented delays.

"The coaches are working as quickly as they can to get going," a spokesperson told the Leinster Express / Laois Live.

"They are moving, and will reach the site as quickly as they can," they said.

The company confirmed that all of their coaches are on the road, while Laois Gardaí are directing traffic.

Picnickers have taken to social media to complain of the two hour wait, with some users claiming that cars travelling along the bus routes is contributing to the delay.

With over 80,000 picnickers expected to descend upon Stradbally this Thursday and Friday, Laois is gearing up for a hectic weekend.
