Laois TD to chair Public Accounts Committee for Ryan Tubridy appearance

Academy Award winners join Ryan Tubridy for this week's Late Late Show

Laois TD Brian Stanley will chair the Public Accounts Committee when Ryan Tubridy and his agent Noel Kelly appear on Tuesday morning.

“Since details of additional payments totalling €345,000 by RTÉ to Mr Tubridy were revealed by RTÉ, Mr Tubridy and Mr Kelly have been central to the discussions before PAC. These payments and how they arose are matters of significant public interest considering the level of funding RTÉ receives from taxpayers through the licence fee.

The Committee welcomes that Mr Tubridy and Mr Kelly are appearing before PAC as we believe it is essential to hear what they have to say about the negotiation and operation of these payments by RTÉ, and related matters,” PAC Cathaoirleach Deputy Brian Stanley said.

The Public Accounts Committee will meet  in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House with television and radio presenter Mr Ryan Tubridy and his agent Mr Noel Kelly to discuss payments to Mr Tubridy by Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) from 2017 to date and details of Mr Tubridy’s contractual relationships with RTÉ on Tuesday, July 11 at 11 am.

The meeting in Committee Room 1 can be viewed live on https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/oireachtas-tv/cr1-live/

PAC is a standing committee of Dáil Éireann which focuses on ensuring public services are run efficiently and achieve value for money.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
