Laois female pedestrian hospitalised after being hit by car

Appeal for witnesses after crash in Portarlington on Bank Holiday Monday

A woman walking in Portarlington town was hospitalised after she was hit by a car over the Bank Holiday weekend. 

The collision took place at Kilmalogue Cross on Monday evening, February 3, at about 7.45pm.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.

Gardaí and an ambulance attended the scene, where the driver of the car remained and was "fully cooperative" according to a spokesperson for Laois Offaly Garda division, speaking to the Leinster Express / Laois Live.

The incident is under investigation by the Gardaí. They appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
