Laois County Council has issued a 'temporary emergency closure of roads' in Portlaoise town centre for two nights next week.
The local authority has said the road will close at Main Street, Portlaoise from the junction of Church Street to the Junction of Railway Street.
The closure is effective from 20:00 hours to 06:00 hours from Monday, November 26 to Wednesday, November 28, 2018 to accommodate 'gas works' to connect a new retail outlet on the street. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation.
Access for residents will be accommodated where possible. Diversions will be clearly signposted. See diversion map below.

Main Street will also close from 7am to 7pm on Sunday, November 25th for the Portlaoise Christmas Market.
