Car flipped and minibus collision: Five crashes in Laois this weekend

Laois Gardaí have urged motorists to maintain awareness on the road following five car accidents this past weekend.

Four of these accidents occurred on Friday June 13.

On the Mountmellick road, a vehicle was flipped into the ditch at 10:50am. The car was occupied by a driver and a single passenger, with no injuries sustained.

In Mountrath, a vehicle crashed in Market Square at 8pm, with minor damage sustained. This incident occurred at 8pm on Friday June 13.

Also on Friday, a minibus cut across lanes on the M7 Portlaoise. The minibus caused damages to another car. No injuries were reported.

On the R445 outside of Portlaoise, a BMW collided with a Volkswagen. The Volkswagen sustained damages.

On the Southern Circular Road in Portlaoise, a car was rear ended and received material damages on Sunday June 15. 

Friday 13 also saw the theft from a vehicle in Portarlington. 

A car was opened at some time between 7pm to 8am, and a small amount of change was taken.

The car sustained minor damages to the passenger door and the drivers door.
