RTÉ's Nationwide paid a visit to Abbeyleix in a fantastic episode covering the town's Tidy Towns committee.
Abbeyleix won the much sought after Tidiest Town award in 2023, thanks to the dedication and pride of place of locals.

Presenter Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh spoke with members of the Tidy Towns committee on the hard work and fantastic initiatives run in the town.
Ms Ní Chofaigh also paid a visit to Scoil Mhuire Abbeyleix and spoke with students and teacher Hazel Thompson on how the school manage their self sustainable garden.
The episode also delved into the rich history of Abbeyleix, and spoke to local historian and descendant of the De Vesci family, Tom De Vesci.
Abbeyleix library received praise for its number of awards for architectural design, and for providing a fantastic meeting place for local groups.
Morrissey's pub, Leinster House and Pembroke Terrace were highlighted for their history, with the amenities provided by Fr Breen Park and the local community garden applauded.
