John Delaney- Portlaoise

John (Jack) Delaney, Kyledellig, Ballacolla, Portlaoise. Died suddenly on December 5. Dearly loved son of Tim and Eileen, much loved brother of Tim and Tom and adoring sister Sarah. John will be sadly missed by his sisters in law Sara and Kate, nieces Evelyn and Sadie, nephew Tim, uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives, neighbours and large circle of friends. May he rest in peace. Anthony Ryan

Ryan (Hat), Anthony (Tony), Bealaclave, Rearcross, Newport, Co Tipperary, died on December 5, 2023, (suddenly) at his residence in the arms of his wife Mary. Predeceased by his parents Neddie and Mary, sister Breda (Twohig), his father and mother in law Tommy and Peggy Hogan and brother in law Thomas. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Mary G (nee Hogan, Coolowley, Errill, Co. Laois), his cherished daughters Marie and Antoinette, Marie’s partner Eoghan, brothers Jimmy, Timmy and Eamon, aunts Eileen (Chadwick) and Julia and Eddie (Lambe), brothers in law Jim, John and Paul, sisters in law Eileen, Margaret, Nora and Catherine, nephews, nieces, relatives, cousins, neighbours and friends. Anthony Walsh- Portlaoise

Anthony Walsh, The Heath, (R32KH2Y) Portlaoise, who died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on the 5th of December, 2023. Dearly beloved husband to Irene and loving father to Ellen, Laura and Tony. Deeply cherished by his mother Margaret and his predeceased father Martin. Adored by his brother Joe and sisters Mary, Martina, Attracta, Patricia, Colette and his late brother Martin, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his colleagues in the ESB and his buddies, especially “The Riffs”. May Anthony Rest in Peace.

Reposing at his family home on Thursday, December 7, from 2pm with rosary at 8pm. Funeral arriving for requiem Mass at 12.30pm on Friday in St. Peter and Paul's Church, Portlaoise. Interment will follow in the Heath Cemetery. House private on Friday, please.

May Lyons- Killeshin

May Lyons, (née Byrne) Died on December 4, 2023 in the gentle care of the Sacred Heart Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Davy and much loved mother of Michael, Marie and the late David. Sadly missed by her loving son, daughter, son-in-law Milton, grandson David, extended family, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace. Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home, Pollerton Castle, Carlow on Thursday from 3pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal on Friday afternoon to the Holy Cross Church, Killeshin to arrive for funeral Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only. Brigid (Bridie) Moran -Ballylinan

(née Lacey) Ballinagar, Ballylinan. Formerly of Tomaclavin, Luggacurran. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Annie, sister Margaret and brothers Jim and Liam. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Larry, daughters Charlotte and Anna, sister Mary (Hooper), brothers Joe and John, son-in-law Billy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Kate, Ollie, Andy and Stella, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Rest in Peace

Reposing at her residence (R14 AW65) on Wednesday afternoon (Dec 6th) from 4pm until the conclusion of the Rosary at 7pm. Removal on Thursday morning to arrive at St. Abban's Church, Killeen for Requiem Mass at 10am. A private cremation will take place afterwards. Family flowers only please. Desmond (Des) Norton- Abbeyleix

Merchant's Road, Galway and formerly of Blakeshill, Galway and originally from Abbeyleix. Des passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4, at Galway University Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Lilly and John and siblings Sean, Betty, Collette and Michael. Deeply mourned by his wife Therese, children David, Fiona, Peter and Jennifer, son-in-law Iain and daughter-in-law Yvonne, by his adored grandchildren Emily, Andrew, Olivia Ziva , Althaea and Emme. Survived by his brother Brendan and sister Deirdre.

Reposing at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91V1K8) on Friday, morning, 8 December, for a short period from 9 a.m. Removal to the Church of Christ the King, Salthill, to arrive for Requiem Mass therein at 10 a.m. Following Mass, Des will be laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery. Marie Geoghegan - Borris-in-Ossory 

Of Main Street Borris-in-Ossory. Died on December 4, 2023 peacefully in the loving care of the staff in the Villa Marie Nursing Home, Roscrea. Predeceased by her sisters Lucy (Gantly) and Rena, nephews Mike, Pat, Oisín and Cathal, grandnephew grandnieces, cousins, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Marie Rest in Peace. Reposing in Guilfoyles Funeral Home Castletown Eircode R32TN84 this Wednesday evening (Dec 6th) from 6pm with rosary at 8pm. Removal tomorrow Thursday morning (Dec 7th) from her residence to arrive at St. Canice's Church, Borris-In-Ossory for Requiem Mass at 11 o'clock, with interment immediately afterwards in Knockaroo Cemetery. Helen Ryan(née O'Dwyer)- Mountrath

Of Dominic Street, Cashel, Tipperary.  Formerly of Mountrath. Died peacefully in the wonderful care of Mary O’Connor and all her Staff at Acorn Lodge surrounded by her loving family. Helen, beloved wife of the late Matt, deeply regretted by her loving daughters Breeda Delahunty, Teresa Coman and Mary Irwin, sons-in-law Tom, Jim and Justin, grandchildren Paul, David, Patrick, James, Matthew and Andrew, great-grandchildren Eoghan, Éabha, Dara, Íde, Tommy and Sadhbh, niece Helen, nephew Thomas, relatives, neighbours and friends. Nancy (Nora) Kavanagh - Ballcolla

Nancy (Nora) Kavanagh (nee Walsh), of 1 St. Fergal's Park, Ballacolla, died on December 4 2023, peacefully at Castlecomer District Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband John-Joe, and brother Joe. Sadly missed by her adoring family, Joanne, Michael, Mags (Maggie), Ned and Brendan (Duxie), sons-in-law Jimmy and Kurt, daughters-in-law Lisa, Gillian and Andrea, grandchildren Kayne, Georgia, John-Joe, Mikey, Brady, Casey, Logan, Ciaràn, Mackenzie, Sophia, Rylee, Jason, Oscar, Freya, Colby, Mila and nanny Nancy to Kevin, Frankie and Corey, brother Donie, sister Mary, sister-in-law Margaret, brother-in-law Seamus, nieces, nephews extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. Removal on Thursday morning to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ballacolla, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon followed by interment in Bordwell Cemetery Clough. Family flowers only please. Joseph (Joe) Cooke - Mountrath

Of Crannagh, Mountrath died on December 4, 2023. Peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Mount Carmel Nursing Home, Roscrea.​​​​​​ Deeply regretted by his brother Fr. Walter, his good friend Paddy, relatives, neighbours and friends. "May Joe Rest in Peace". Brigid Emerson - Portarlington 

(née Lee) of Bishopswood Road, Portarlington and formerly of Ballinabrackey, County Meath. Died on December 3, 2023 Peacefully, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Loving wife of the late Hugh and dear mother of the late Gráinne. Deeply regretted by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brother Jimmy, sister Eilish , in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends. May She Rest In Peace ​​​​​

Muiris Poole - Rosenallis

The death took place on Thursday, November 30 of Muiris Poole, Capard, Rosenallis, Laois.

Muiris passed away suddenly in his home. He was pre-deceased by his father Maurice. Beloved son of Ann and brother of Joseph, Fergal and Aidan. Muiris will be sadly missed by his loving family, his sisters-in-law Assumpta and Paula, his nieces Tara and Kiera, his nephews Michael, Sean, Vincent and Anthony, his aunts Kathleen, Mary, Betty and Maureen and his uncles John Joe, Pat and Matthew, his extended family, friends and neighbours.May he rest in peace.Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick, on Tuesday 5th from 6pm. Recital of the rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Wednesday 6th, at 10.30am to St. Brigid’s Church, Rosenallis, arriving for 11am requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in Rosenallis Cemetery.
