Organisers of the Ossory Agricultural Show are looking forward to hosting the rescheduled event in Coolfin, Rathdowney this Sunday, July 30.

Originally due to take place on Sunday, July 23, a difficult decision was made to cancel the show in the interest of health and safety following torrential rainfall last Saturday. The 125th Ossory Agricultural Show has been rescheduled and will now take place this coming Sunday, July 30.

“The safety and well-being of our attendees, participants, and exhibitors have always been our top priority, and as a result, the decision to postpone the event was made in the best interest of everyone involved,” Show Organisers said.

“We are pleased to announce that the Ossory Agricultural Show will now take place on Sunday, 30th July, at the Ossory Showgrounds in Coolfin, Rathdowney. Despite the unexpected circumstances, we are looking forward to hosting the show and once again providing a unique agricultural experience for all  our valued visitors, showcasing the very best in agriculture, livestock, competitions, and family-friendly entertainment.”

Please note that the Ossory Truck Show, which was scheduled to take place on Sunday, 23rd July, went ahead as planned, although not open to the public, adhering to strict safety protocols. The event successfully hosted passionate truck enthusiasts, as most of the trucks had already arrived before the weather conditions necessitated the postponement of the Agricultural Show. To the Highwaymen Ireland, the truckers, and all others who braved the weather and battled valiantly to ensure the event went ahead in some capacity, we extend our sincerest gratitude and true admiration,” they said.

The rescheduled Ossory Agricultural Show promises to be a great event, with the same array of exciting attractions, competitions and activities that visitors have come to love over the years. Attendees can still look forward to an extensive variety of classes, including Cattle, Sheep, Horses, Poultry, Dogs, Flowers, Vegetables, Baking, Crafts, Produce, Photography, and more! Additionally, the Hunt Chase, Charm & Style Competitions, Vintage Car & Tractor Show, Tug of War Competition, Vintage Threshing, Vintage Corn Cutting, trade stands, kids' amusements, live music, food vendors, and other entertainment will all be part of this remarkable day.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the postponement and extend our heartfelt gratitude for your understanding and continued support. We want to assure everyone that we are fully committed to delivering a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees,” Organisers said.

The rescheduled Ossory Agricultural Show will take place in Coolfin, Rathdowney this coming Sunday, July 30 from 11am. Organisers are inviting people to come together to celebrate Ossory’s rich agricultural heritage and community spirit.
