WATCH: Electric Picnic campsite clean-up comes to a close after chaotic mess left
The clean-up operation at Electric Picnic is drawing to a close
The Electric Picnic clean-up is coming close to being finished after a massive mess was left on the campsite in Stradbally.
The three-day festival takes place in Laois every year, with headliners such as Zara Larsson, CMAT, and Amble performing over the weekend.
Tents, sleeping bags, camp chairs, sequins, and likely some dignity were left at the campsite this afternoon.
As seen in the video, a huge amount of rubbish was also dumped at the site.
Roughly 80,000 people attended the festival this year, and many of them left in their droves this morning and afternoon.
Traffic was at its heaviest between 12pm and 4pm, with Gardaí urging motorists to take extra caution.
This was due to the high possibility of drink and drug drivers being on the roads.
Focus is already on next year’s Electric Picnic, with Festival Director Melvin Benn stating that ticket prices and capacity will remain the same.
“There is no increase in capacity for next year or no increase in the ticket price next year,” he stated.
Partner pre-sale begins tomorrow, while loyalty and general sale begin on Friday, September 4.
Ticket prices range between €245.50 and €325.50 depending on the loyalty tier.
