Laois County Council have announced six months of works on Portarlington's Station road, beginning on Monday January 5.
The Council have shared plans of temporary traffic management arrangements, to allow for footpath and cycle lane improvement works.
These arrangements will be in place from 8am to 6pm, on and between Monday January 5, to Friday, June 26.
From the Bracklone street roundabout to the canal road roundabout, a one-way shuttle system will be in place.
Inbound traffic flow towards Portarlington town centre from the Canal road direction shall be maintained.
Traffic travelling to Station road from the direction of Main street will be diverted along Bracklone Street, and redirected onto Canal Road to end at the L3170 Station Road roundabout.

These plans disrupt traffic on a particularly busy road in Portarlington, with the Presentation Primary School on Station Rd.
Scoil Phadraig BNS is located on Canal road, which is accessed via Station road.
McCann Park, Portarlington GAA club grounds, is also on Canal road, which is accessed from Station Road.
