Laois cafe owner pays tribute after death of grandad and best customer
The owner of a cafe in Portlaoise has paid tribute afterbthe death of her beloved grandad who was also one of her best customers.
Kelly Lou Ging posted the tribute on social media on Saturday after the death of her grandfather John Dowling.
She said: "With heavy hearts yesterday we said goodbye to one of life’s true gentlemen, my Granddad Yaya.
"If you are a frequent visitor to the cafe I’m sure you have seen Yaya there many a time enjoying his extra hot latte.
"Always first to like all of my Instagram posts he has been one of my biggest supporters through my career and life.
"My siblings and I are so lucky to have spent so much of our lives with him and we treasure all the memories we have.
"Our sons, his five great grandsons also had the privilege of knowing their Yaya and they meant the world to him.
"Words cannot describe how much he will be missed, always loved and forever in our hearts," she concluded.
Funeral Arrangements:
Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6.30 pm to 8 pm with Rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Monday to SS Peter and Paul's Church for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment will follow afterwards in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Portlaoise. Family flowers only, donations if desired to the Irish Cancer Society.
