Teresa Shortall - Shanahoe

The death took place on Monday, November 27 of Teresa Shortall, (née Nevin), Springmount, Shanahoe, Co. Laois. R32X499.

Teresa passed away peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise on Monday 27th November 2023, in the presence of her family. Predeceased by her husband William, son Charles, brothers Jack, James, Colm, Padraig, Josie, sisters Mary, Ellie, Bernadette and Bridgie.

Much loved mother of John, Billy, Padraig, Sally, Thomas and Tony. Adored grandmother of Odhran, Meabh, Senan, Eithne, Eoghan, Manus, Vangelis, Cillian, Aaron, Niamh, Aoife, Emily, Orla, Oscar and Charlie, great-grandmother to Ruan, Nora, Hilma and Emer, sadly missed by her brothers Michael and Tony, sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law ,son-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and wonderful neighbours and friends.

May Teresa Rest in Peace

Teresa will repose at her home on Wednesday afternoon from 3.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 7.0’clock. Requiem Mass on Thursday morning at 11.0’clock in St. Brigid’s Church, Shanahoe, followed by Burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Regina Smith - Mountmellick

The death has occurred on Saturday, November 25 of Regina (Gina) Smith 6 Esker Gate Mountmellick. Died unexpectedly at home in the company of her loving partner Noel and her daughter Ciara.  

Gina is survived by her loving Mother Joan Kenna (Derrymore Portarlington), aunt Theresa Sweeney (Mullingar), uncle Tom (Mullingar), neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Edward Kelly

The death occurred on Saturday, November 25 of Edward (Ted) Kelly, 27 Kylebeg Estate, Stradbally, Laois.

Passed away peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his adored wife, Eileen, his parents Mary and James, brothers Jim and Paddy, sisters Bridie (Tuts) and Pauline, granddaughter Aoibhnait. Deeply missed and loved by his daughter Mary, son Niall, son-in-law Paul, daughter-in-law Annette, grandchildren Chloe, Enda, Deavon and Rhianna, sister Nan, brother Anthony, sisters-in-law Mary and Lindie, brothers-in-law Paddy, Liam and John, beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and a large circle of friends, also sadly missed by his loyal and faithful friend, his cat Puddy.

Ted will repose at the family home on Monday (27th November) from 2pm until Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday (28th November) at 12 noon in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally. Interment to follow in Oakvale Cemetery. 
 

House Private on Tuesday morning, please. Family Flowers Only. Donations, in lieu, to the Irish Kidney Association.

James Kevin Kelly - Crettyard

The death occurred on Friday, November 24 of James Kevin Kelly, Jarrow House, Hollypark, Crettyard, Laois / Crettyard, Kilkenny / Crettyard, Carlow.

Kevin passed away peacefully at St Luke’s Hospital Kilkenny. Predeceased by his loving wife Martha. Beloved father of Lesley, Sean, Robert and Clare, step-children Philomena and James, grandchildren Joshua, Sophie, Isabella, Lucy, Mitchell and Rachel, brother Jack, sisters Patricia, Maureen and Sharon, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Moran’s Funeral Home, Castlecomer, from 4pm Monday with rosary and vigil prayers taking place at 6.30pm. Funeral cortege arriving at St Patrick’s Church, Clogh, for Requiem Mass at 11am on Tuesday. Kevin's burial will take place immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Tom Scully - Portlaoise

The death took place on Sunday, November 26 of Tom Scully, Ballyfin Rd., Portlaoise.

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband to Brenda. Loving father to Brian, Kathryn, Philip and Tommy.  Cherished grandfather to Ryan, Faye, Charlie, Ruby and Sadie. Deeply regretted by his loving family, brothers Pat and Kenny. sisters Noreen and Ann, son in law John, daughters in law Jackie, Gemma and Niamh, his special friend Joe Egan, nephews, nieces, former customers and many friends in Portlaoise Rugby Club and Portlaoise GAA  Club.

Reposing at Keegan's Funeral Home, Portlaoise, on Monday evening from 5.30pm until 8pm, with rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Tuesday to SS Peter and Paul's Church, to arrive for 12 noon requiem Mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to charity.

Brian Keogh - Portarlington

The death has occurred on Wednesday, November 22 of Brian (The Ral) Keogh, Castlegate, Portarlington, Laois

Suddenly. Predeceased by his parents Garrett and Dora, brothers Gary and John. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, family Nicola, Jean and her husband Guido, Debbie and her partner Clifford, Simon and his partner Hannah, brother Paddy, sisters Peg Whelan, Anne Byrne and Doreen Folan, grandchildren Samuel Ayla, Emmy and Esme, brothers-in-law Oliver and Dick, sisters-in-law Marie, Ann, Lily and Breda,, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. ​​​​​​

Reposing at Maher's Chapel of Rest, Portarlington on Friday evening from 5:30pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning at 10:20am arriving St Michael's Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael's Cemetery, Portarlington.
