RTÉ Operation Transformation cameras coming to Portlaoise

Laois is the home of RTÉ's Operation Transformation 2023 series now on air, and Portlaoise is the centre of a big challenge this week.

Each week a different Laois town or village will be featured in the three minute Ad Break Challenge exercises, with fitness expert Karl Henry.

The organisers are urging a big crowd to come out on the night.

"Join Karl for the filming of the Civic Plaza Portlaoise Ad Break Challenge this FRIDAY 13th JAN 2023 @7pm! We had a great crowd last week so let’s keep that going and kickstart a healthy 2023!"

The local hero who will lead the challenge with Karl has also been announced by Laois Sports Partnership.

“Treacy Percy is featured as this week’s local hero. Treacy does lots of fantastic work in the Laois Community with several disability groups and we are delighted to have her as a member of the LSP board.

“Let’s replicate the great turn out in Vicarstown, which had an amazing crowd, a great mix of people and a fantastic atmosphere on the night,” LSP said.

Get your gear on and get out in Portlaoise this Friday, January 13 to show Ireland how fit and fun Laois is.

The challenge will be filmed in the Civic Plaza (next to Laois County Council offices), at 7pm.

The results will be broadcast during the ad breaks of next week's episode, on Wednesday, January 18 at 9.35pm on RTÉ One.
