Laois Gardaí urge drivers to remain cautious following four crashes locally

Gardaí have encouraged drivers to remain vigilant on Laois roads, following the occurrence of four collisions this past weekend.

On Thursday February 5, two cars collided on the Stradbally road in Portlaoise causing material damage at 1:40pm.

On Friday February 6 on the Mountrath road, a truck got stuck under the railway bridge. No damage was sustained to the bridge. The incident occurred at 6:45am.

In Rathdowney on Saturday February 7 at 7am, a female driver lost control of her car on a newly-tarmacked bog road. The driver collided with a tree. No injuries were sustained.

On February 7 at 11pm, two cars collided on Bracklone street in Portarlington, breaking wing mirrors on the cars.

On January 21st, reported to Gardaí on February 2, a driver reported that a cable attached to a lorry came loose and connected with the two front tyres of a car travelling behind on the N77 Abbeyleix. The cable wrapped around the tyres of the vehicle.
